Investors underwrite the team before they underwrite the product, because they have watched what actually kills companies. It is rarely the idea. It is two operating systems discovering each other too late, under load, with equity on the table.

The standard co-founder advice is wrong, or at least aimed at the wrong layer. Shared vision is table stakes; every founding pair has it in month one.
