Dating Patterns & Attraction Triggers
“Why do I keep choosing the same story?”
Who you are drawn to, and why it keeps going the same way, is a readable structure. The Definitive's romantic Mirror names your pattern and the point where it starts working against you.
Different person, different city, same six months and the same ending.
You have changed apps, changed cities, changed what you say you are looking for. The people are genuinely different. The arc is not. Six good weeks, then a stretch where you are doing most of the reaching, then the long part where you already know how it ends and stay anyway. Your friends have stopped being surprised. One of them has a particular tone now, the one they use before repeating advice you have already been given twice.
The endings are not the expensive part. The rounds are. Each takes a year to run and half a year to recover from, and you start the next one older with the same opening move. The real question never gets asked, because every relationship arrives looking like a fresh case with its own particulars and its own reasons. Nobody sees the shape of a pattern from inside the third instance of it.
Dating advice tells you to change your type. The type was never the repeat.
The standard correction is to widen the filter. Date the kind one you would normally overlook, write down your non-negotiables, stop going for the same profile. It is decent advice aimed a layer too high. A type describes who you noticed. What actually repeats is what you did in the fourth month, and that runs the same regardless of who is standing opposite you. Widen the filter and the arc plays again with a nicer person inside it, on the old schedule.
The other correction is the attachment label. It describes the behaviour accurately, then files it as damage to be repaired before you are permitted to try again, which turns dating into an indefinite waiting room. What it never gives you is the mechanism: the exact conditions under which you start reaching, the specific unavailability you read as depth, and the point in the arc where it switches on.
A chart read works at that layer. Attraction has a structure, and the structure has held across every person you have picked. Read once, properly, it gives you the type you keep choosing, what in it you are actually going for, and the moment it turns from the reason you stayed into the reason you left. Named, the repeat becomes a decision with a date attached rather than a mood you find yourself already inside.
The type is not the pattern. What you do in month four is the pattern.
Ranked the way the romantic Mirror reads it: by pull, not by how well any of it has worked out for you. The five Mirrors take one disposition at a time, and this is the one that names the type you keep choosing and what inside it you are going for. The bottom of a list like this is usually where the people who were good for you sit.
The plate draws the twelve months ahead and names the phases that favour meeting someone, the ones that favour ending something honestly, and the stretch where the arc is most likely to start again without you noticing it start. A pattern has a season. Knowing which part of the year yours tends to open in is the difference between choosing and being caught mid-choice.

Choose your reportThe questions sitting underneath the repeat.
Compatibility quizzes answer who to pick. None of them ask why the picking keeps arriving at the same address. These are the questions the read is built around instead.
The moment you chose them
You did not choose them on the first date. You chose them at a specific moment about two weeks in, usually one where they were slightly withholding and something in you tilted towards it. That moment is the same every time and it is describable. Most people can find it in every relationship they have had once they know to look. It is earlier than they think, and it is never the moment they tell the story from.
What the type stands in for
A type is rarely about looks or work. It is a set of conditions that reproduce one specific feeling, and the feeling usually predates the dating by decades. The useful question is not what they all had in common. It is what you were able to do in their company that you cannot seem to do alone, or with somebody easier.
The absence of charge
The kind, available person produces no signal, and you file that as no chemistry. Consider that the signal you scan for is the sound of a familiar risk being present rather than the sound of a good match. This is the most expensive misreading in dating, because it arrives disguised as honest self-knowledge and gets defended as taste.
Which half of it is yours
Not everything that keeps happening is a pattern of yours. Some of it is the pool: the city, the age bracket, the app, the hours your work leaves you. Separating the structural half from the circumstantial half stops you spending years correcting what was a supply problem, and stops you calling a supply problem the thing you keep doing.
The month the story turns
Every one of these has had a point where the thing that drew you in became the thing you complained about. It tends to arrive at a consistent distance from the start rather than after a consistent event. Knowing roughly where that mark falls in your own arc lets you recognise it while you are standing on it, which is the only place it can be handled.
What you do while leaving
The repeat is not only in the choosing. There is a second pattern in how you end things: whether you go quiet, whether you provoke the other person into doing it for you, whether you stay eleven months past the answer. That half is more changeable than who you are drawn to, and almost nobody works on it, because the story is always told as a choosing problem.
Where this question gets answered in the document.
The romantic Mirror
One of five Mirrors, each taking a single disposition at a time: how you lead, how you decide, how you fight, how you love, how you hold money. The romantic one names the type you keep choosing and the point where it starts working against you.
A summary led by what you named at intake
If the pattern is what you came for, the executive summary opens on it, with the secondary priorities stated as such and a set of quick wins beneath them. The front of the document is about the thing you actually asked.
The present, in four layers
Part III reads the present in four layers, then a thirty-day outlook and the week ahead. It places where the pattern is standing right now, before the twelve months are opened out behind it.
The twelve months, quarter by quarter
Major transitions named, a dated quarterly strip, and four quarterly deep dives running forward from the cast date. Twelve months is the horizon, and it is where the phases that favour meeting, ending and holding steady get their dates.
The long river
A hundred-year view of your periods, a deep dive on the one you are inside, and the three chapters of the life. Read backwards, it shows which chapter each of your past relationships was chosen in, which is usually the first time the rounds line up.
The warnings, and the closing letter
A stated set of warnings, a health vigilance section, the full Gemstone Crown, and a closing letter written to you in a contemplative register on what the years ahead ask of you. Methodology and appendix follow.
One cast from a long-form sitting, forty-one to forty-seven pages, delivered in three days. Strictly one-time: there is no annual re-cast by design, and anyone who wants the year taken quarter by quarter belongs in the Executive rhythm instead.
A pattern named in March is tested by whoever you meet in September.
The document answers the question, and in answering it sets down a record: the type, the trigger, the month the arc tends to turn, and your own account of the people it has already run through, given at the sitting while you were naming them. That account does not expire with the pages. It becomes the thing everything later is read against.
What stands afterwards is an astrologer holding your romantic pattern and your version of the people inside it. Ask it in November why the new one is starting to feel like the last one, and the answer comes back against what is already on record rather than from a blank page. On whether to stay it does not decide for you, and where the question is a therapy question it says so and names it.
A period in your chart changes
Attraction runs hotter in some phases and flatter in others, and a change of phase is where the pull resets. The note names what you are likely to find compelling while it runs, which of your usual triggers it amplifies, and the one thing worth holding to before you meet anybody inside it.
A date your report named is approaching
The report dated the phases that favour meeting someone and the ones better spent ending something honestly. Ahead of one, the note says which it is and what your pattern has historically done in that stretch, so you walk into it already knowing the move you are most likely to make.
You raised a decision and went quiet
You asked whether to end it before a date you had named, and then nothing came back. A relationship left unanswered does not stay open. It converts quietly into another year of the same arc, which is how most of these rounds get their length. One follow-up goes out, and after that the position stands as you left it.

Unlocked by the Executive Report and above, never sold on its own, because without a reading there is nothing for it to know. Qualifying reports include free weeks of it, then it is $50 a month on Standard or $100 on Pro, on WhatsApp or Telegram, with credits from either plan rolling over toward your next report.
Our position.
Free will and personal choices matter most. Nobody is chosen by a chart. You reply to the message, you stay past the month you already knew, you say the thing that ends it or you keep not saying it. Every round of this was entered by a person making decisions, and none of that is handed back here.
What is here is structure, not a script: the shape of the pull, the arc it tends to run, and when the year ahead supports interrupting it. It cannot see the other person. It does not know whether they are honest, whether they want the same thing, or what they will be like in the second year. Half of any relationship belongs to somebody who was never read, and there is no substitute for finding that out slowly.
And it is one instrument among several. A therapist works the material underneath the pattern, which is slower and often necessary. A couples counsellor works the relationship you are actually in. The friends who watched all five rounds see things no document does. Read the chart for the shape and the timing, and let the rest of them do what they are for.
